The Anchor Bar is a Buffalo restaurant and bar famous for its "invention" in 1964 of Buffalo Wings. See The Original Since 1964 for the story of Teressa Bellissimo, wife of early owner Frank Bellissimo, inventing the wings in response to a request from son Dominic, the bartender.
Anchor Bar is now franchised outside the Buffalo area, such as Rochester, and has an online store selling frozen wings, sauces, etc.
