Our Events Index ¹ page provides an annual and decade index to events from Buffalo's past as well as for planned and forecast future events. The index is complete back to 1800 but the referenced pages may not yet exist. This should serve as a starting point from which to develop a more complete list. A briefer, albeit less complete, time line may be found on the History page.

Our events indexing data is provided by the year in which the event occurred with decade summaries.

Early History

One may find historic events relating to the broad area around Buffalo dating back as early as 1620. Erie County's history began sometime after 1789 with the first permanent resident and its name and boundaries set in 1821. Buffalo's history began similarly.
