Most of the wiki's help files, which can assist you with making and formatting pages, are on the Wiki Spot main site.

If you need help on figuring out where to begin, try adopting an Orphan; roping in a runaway, or hunting down the most wanted. If that doesn't get the juices flowing, check the top tabs marked Seed Pages List and Photo Requests. You can finish or add to articles already started, or add photos to an article - of course, they are your own or you have rights to use them. Finally, you can learn how to add businesses and other new articles by checking out Putting Your Business on BufWiki.

Another way one can assist with the wiki is through advocacy. Emailing your friends, your favorite businesss owners, collegues, and family about this being available can really help make this site stronger. The more people involved in this collaborative project it will: increase the number of pages created, decrease errors, and create more value on the system. Here's a flyer BufWiki Flyer.pdf that you can print and post around your neighborhood. If you don't like this one, make a new one, post it here, and link it to this help page. We can use all the help we can get.

• If you start an article, but it isn't totally finished you can create a seed page, you can learn more about creating them here.
  

• If you think a page could use a photo, add a photo request. It will allow people to roam Buffalo, taking pictures of things, and they can fulfill the requests. It's like a photo scavenger hunt.
  

• If you are not sure something should be on a page, click on talk and discuss your idea with the wiki editors.
