For our purposes, we define a nonprofit organization as any structure or entity with a stated purpose of providing goods or services to a segment of the community without regard or intent as to any commercial or monetary profit. Organizations that engage in financial transactions, solicit funds, etc must comply with certain federal, state, and local legal restrictions in order to be treated as a legitimate "not-for-profit" entity. We hope to provide additional resources on that subject on this page.
